Dr. Loren Kozak, ND, MIFHI

 

My medical training began in 1976 at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and continued at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I graduated in 1984 with a Doctorate in Naturopathic medicine. I am also a certified Master instructor of the Institute for Human Individuality (MIFHI) which incorporates blood type research and epigenetics. I am the first certified practitioner in Canada for nutrigenomic analysis using Opus 23.
 
As a pioneer in the Naturopathic medical field with over 40 years clinical experience, it is clear that a personalized diet and nutritional regimen, based on an individual's unique biochemistry and genetics, are the foundation for optimal health. I have an interest is sports medicine and cancer therapy.  I am an avid cross-country skier and have been an active rugby enthusiast, still playing and coaching, for over 40 years.

I have 7 years of post-secondary education, including 4 years at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, an accredited Naturopathic medical school in BC. I practice general family Naturopathic medicine, with an interest in women and children's health, environmental health and epigenetics.

I was raised in a Naturopathic family in Nelson BC. Both my father, Dr. Loren Kozak, ND and my mother, Catharine Kozak, acupuncturist, taught me the value of natural healthcare from a young age. Growing up in Nelson, I have a deep passion and appreciation for healthy living and the natural beauty that surrounds us. My husband, my 2 beautiful daughters, and I are proud to call Nelson home.

Mischa Kozak, Registered Massage Therapist

 

Mischa has been practicing massage since 2008, first at Nelson's Mountain Waters Spa, where she offered Rebalancing and Hot Stone Massage, and later, after completing the 3,000 hour RMT program at The West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, as an RMT.         

 

Mischa grew up in a family of healthcare practitioners and is passionate about healthy, active living. She and her partner, Patrick, and their three children enjoy the many wonderful opportunities Nelson has to offer. She is pleased to join her father, Dr. Loren Kozak, and her sister, Dr. Carla Kozak, in the clinic.
